At the international exhibition INNOPROM.Belarus in Minsk, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov presented several Kazakhstani startups, including projects developed by students and residents of Nazarbayev University. These initiatives align with President Tokayev’s directive to advance digitalization in education, industry, sports, and healthcare. QazMonitor learned more about the startups from NU press service.
Mirai Tech — an AI-driven system that diagnoses and prevents sports injuries through biomechanical analysis. Using sensors embedded in sports gear, the platform processes over 20,000 motion parameters to predict risks and generate personalized recommendations. Following a successful pilot with FC Astana’s youth team, the startup is launching a one-year contract with a football club.
Game of Drones — a low-latency platform enabling remote control of real drones and machinery over the internet. The system supports remote operation in agriculture, mining, and drone training, ensuring high-speed precision with minimal delay.
Digital Platform for Railway Fleet Management — a digital system for managing and optimizing railway wagon operations. Deployed across Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Russia, it uses AI for fleet planning and logistics, helping reduce empty mileage by 10% and boosting client profits.
Artisan Education — an NU-based LMS addressing the teacher shortage in rural schools. The platform integrates interactive courses and an AI assistant that helps students debug code, shifting teachers’ roles toward mentorship and project-based learning.
Electrologic — an NU innovation recognized among the world’s top six “green” projects for metallurgy and energy. The system cuts smelting time nearly in half, saving electricity and materials. Already implemented in Serbia and China, it’s now being adapted to reduce power losses in Kazakhstan’s energy sector.
