Qazaqstan Monitor: Kazakh Clinics Introduce AI-Based Biometric Patient Services

Medical clinics in Kazakhstan are beginning to use artificial intelligence–based biometric technologies to modernize patient services, QazMonitor reports, citing the press service of Biometric.Vision.

As part of the country’s broader digital transformation, both private and public healthcare providers are introducing AI-driven biometric tools to streamline patient interactions and improve security. One example is the cooperation between MedTech company Emdeu AI and Biometric.Vision platform, which is now used by clinics during patient registration.

According to the developers, the solution allows clinics to complete registration significantly faster than manual processes. The technology simplifies the collection and processing of personal data, reduces the time required to fill out medical and administrative documents, and strengthens the protection of sensitive information.

For healthcare providers, this translates into more efficient patient flow management, lower staff workload, fewer manual errors, and a more structured patient journey.

At present, the system is in use at clinics in Astana and Almaty. Emdeu AI plans to expand its deployment across Kazakhstan and later enter international markets.

Similar biometric technologies have previously been used in sectors such as finance, logistics, transport fleets, HR services, and pawnshops. Their introduction into healthcare demonstrates that such solutions can be applied not only in digital services but also in offline environments with physical points of service.

Industry observers note that the adoption of AI-based biometrics in healthcare aligns with Kazakhstan’s digital development agenda and is intended to improve service quality, process transparency, and the protection of patients’ personal data.
