The Union of Cynologists of Kazakhstan has strengthened its position as one of the leading organizations promoting national dog breeds internationally. Thanks to the dedication and expertise of Kazakh specialists, the Kazakh tazy and tobet have gained recognition abroad and become symbols of the country’s cultural heritage.
Over the past three years, the Union has achieved major milestones: it became a full member of the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI), submitted an application for the preliminary recognition of the Kazakh tazy, and in 2024, the FCI Bureau made a historic decision to grant this recognition. This marked an important step toward the full international acknowledgment of Kazakhstan’s national breeds.
In 2025, at the World Dog Show in Helsinki, the Kazakh tazy earned high awards, proudly representing Kazakhstan on the global stage.
For their significant contributions to developing and promoting national breeds, the following experts were honored with state and departmental awards:
Serikkali Bauyrzhan Serikkaliuly, Natalia Drovosekova, and Elena Khardina received the Kurmet Order;
Evgeny Mechkovskiy and Inkhar Bolysbai were presented with Presidential Letters of Appreciation;
Zhanna Dandybayeva received the Honorary Diploma of the Minister of Ecology.
These awards highlight their commitment to advancing Kazakhstan’s cynology and promoting national breeds. The Union of Cynologists of Kazakhstan will continue its systematic work to preserve, study, and promote the tazy and tobet at the global level.
