Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting with U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor and First Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau. The parties discussed strengthening strategic cooperation with a focus on investment, trade, and technological partnership.

Bektenov emphasized the importance of developing bilateral ties and noted that the United States remains one of Kazakhstan’s largest investors, with American investment reaching USD 61.2 billion since 1993. Over the past five years, mutual trade has doubled to USD 4.2 billion.

Partnership in the agro-industrial complex (AIC) is a relevant area. Kazakhstan ranks among the top ten global exporters of grain and flour. Joint projects for the deep processing of grain with subsequent export to the markets of the United States, the EU, China, and India were discussed.

The sides reviewed joint projects in industry, energy, agriculture, transport, and the digital sector, including artificial intelligence. Key platforms include the Alem.AI International AI Center and Astana Hub, which bring together global technology companies. Kazakhstan is also developing cooperation through the Silk Road Innovation Center in California.

Both sides confirmed their readiness to expand economic cooperation and launch new initiatives.
