Vice Minister of Agriculture Ermek Kenzhekhanuly held a meeting with representatives of China’s Hopefull Grain & Oil Group to discuss the construction of a deep-processing grain facility in the Akmola region.
The company will invest $1.5 billion in a high-tech agro-industrial complex applying environmentally friendly technologies. The project will be implemented in two stages: the first includes building a CHP plant to generate renewable energy, and the second involves launching production of citric acid, glucose-fructose syrups, bioethanol, and feed protein concentrates.
The project follows agreements reached at KGIR-2025, where the Akmola regional administration and Hopefull Grain & Oil Group signed a strategic framework agreement. The company is also considering establishing an industrial park with full infrastructure.
Project head in Kazakhstan Yao Yao expressed gratitude for the support and reaffirmed long-term plans in the agricultural sector.
"The Ministry of Agriculture is ready to provide comprehensive support for the implementation of the project aimed at developing deep processing and increasing the added value of domestic grain," the vice minister emphasized at the end of the meeting.
