Vice Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Assan Darbayev took part in the Kazakhstan Capital Markets Day 2025 conference in London on November 5. The event gathered international investors and financial experts to discuss Kazakhstan’s economic growth and capital market development.

Speaking at the panel session “Sustainable Economic Growth and Financial Sector Development,” Darbayev emphasized the country’s progress in integrating sustainability principles into its financial and economic strategies. He noted that Kazakhstan’s GDP grew by 6.3% in January–September 2025 — one of the highest rates in recent years — with a target of $450 billion GDP by 2029.

Darbayev highlighted ongoing measures to boost investment activity and strengthen Kazakhstan’s position as a transit and investment hub of Eurasia, supported by five international railway and eight road corridors, including the strategically important Middle Corridor.

Kazakhstan maintains investment-grade credit ratings from S&P, Fitch, and Moody’s. Recently, S&P upgraded its outlook to Positive, while Moody’s raised Kazakhstan’s rating to Baa1 last year.

He also underscored the country’s transparent and stable investment climate, supported by long-term legal guarantees, tax incentives, and a digital one-stop investment platform. The Investment Headquarters and the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) continue to play a key role, hosting over 3,500 companies from more than 80 countries with a total investment volume exceeding $14 billion.

On the sidelines of the conference, Darbayev held bilateral meetings with representatives of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) and Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM).
