Kazakhstan presented its agro-industrial and export potential at the 100th anniversary of the Grüne Woche international exhibition and the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) in Berlin, positioning itself as a reliable trade and investment partner, QazMonitor reports, citing the press service of the Ministry of Trade and Integration.

A Kazakh delegation led by minister Arman Shakkaliyev took part in key exhibition and conference events. The centerpiece of Kazakhstan’s participation was the National Pavilion, which served as a platform to showcase agricultural production, advanced processing, modern farming technologies, and sustainable practices. The pavilion drew strong interest from German and international partners, reflecting growing demand for Kazakhstani products and cooperation projects.

On the sidelines of the GFFA, Shakkaliyev held a series of bilateral meetings with senior officials and representatives of international organizations, including Germany’s Federal Ministry of Agriculture, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations, and the World Trade Organization. Talks focused on expanding trade, reducing barriers, strengthening food supply chains, and increasing mutual market access.

Separate discussions were dedicated to agricultural technology and industrial cooperation. Meetings with partners from Germany and other countries addressed the localization of production, modernization of agricultural machinery, seed production, water-efficient technologies, and the application of German quality standards in Kazakhstan.

The delegation also participated in thematic discussions of the German Agribusiness Alliance, including panels on sustainable water use and innovative agricultural technologies, as well as the “Kazakhstan–Germany Agro & Water Nexus” roundtable, where specific cooperation models and pilot projects were discussed.

As a practical outcome of the visit, Kazakhstan and the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations agreed to hold a videoconference in March to discuss concrete cooperation projects. A visit by a German business delegation to Kazakhstan is also planned for April, with a focus on launching joint investment and production initiatives.

Trade between Kazakhstan and Germany continues to grow. From January to November 2025, bilateral trade reached $3.91 billion, while Kazakhstan’s exports to Germany increased by 7.9% to $1.17 billion.
