Belgian and Dutch travel media have featured Kazakhstan as an attractive destination for international travelers, highlighting the expedition potential and unique natural landscapes of the Mangystau Region.
The Dutch magazine Travel Book dedicated an article to Mangystau, with the cover featuring landscapes of the Kyzylkup tract. The publication describes the region’s distinctive scenery and compares it to otherworldly landscapes.
The article highlights the views of Bozzhyra, Torysh and Kyzylkup, sharing the author’s personal travel experience:
“Mangystau is often compared to Mars or the Moon – and not without reason. The landscapes here are simply otherworldly. These are places unlike anything else, and when you stand right in the middle of them, there is only one word you can say: wow. The most impressive locations are Bozzhyra, Kyzylkup and Torysh. In the Bozzhyra valley everything is white – canyons, mountain peaks and rock formations of unusual shapes. Kyzylkup Gorge, also known as the Tiramisu Mountains, is very colorful, with shades of pink, red and terracotta. But the most surprising place is the Valley of Balls (Torysh), where thousands of almost perfectly round stones are scattered across the landscape.”
Belgian lifestyle magazine Papillio also introduced Mangystau Region to its readers as a destination with rare and distinctive natural landscapes. With a circulation of around 280,000 copies, the publication emphasized the region’s natural authenticity and visual uniqueness.
Visual stories about Mangystau have also appeared on the international platform She Is Not Lost, a global community that brings together women travelers and promotes destinations through personal travel narratives.
