Artists of the Abai Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theatre will perform in Singapore for the first time, QazMonitor reports, citing the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan.
The tour performances will take place from January 23 to 25, 2026, at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Cultural Centre.
As part of the tour, the theatre will present a two-part ballet programme. The first section, Masterpieces of Classical Ballet, will feature excerpts from Swan Lake (adagio), Les Sylphides, and Don Quixote.
The second section will present the one-act ballet Carmen Suite, choreographed by Alberto Alonso to music by Rodion Shchedrin, based on motifs from the work of Georges Bizet.
Carmen Suite is considered one of the landmark works of world choreography and explores themes of passion, freedom, and fate.
