An exhibition titled “Dimash: Bir Dauys – Myn El” featuring the personal collection of internationally known singer Dimash Qudaibergen opened in Almaty, QazMonitor reports.
The Ykylas Museum of Folk Musical Instruments presented 70 instruments from the artist’s private collection on February 18. The exhibition includes gifts from fans around the world as well as stage costumes.
Among the exhibits is a costume created for the singer by Goko Zaldi, the personal stylist of Michael Jackson. During the opening ceremony, Dimash donated two dombras to the museum’s collection—one gifted to him by his grandfather and another bearing his autograph.
In response, Lyazzat Kudaibergenova, director of Almaty museums, presented the singer with a replica of the dombra of Abai Kunanbayuly.
The exhibition highlights the value of national art and brings together cultural heritage from different countries. It will be open to visitors for one month at 24a Zenkov Street in Almaty.
