Several leading Korean companies are planning joint investment projects in Kazakhstan, focusing on medicine, pharmaceuticals, waste processing, logistics, and geology, QazMonitor reports citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
What happened: On May 24, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nazira Nurbayeva met in Seoul with Chung Byung-won, South Korea's Deputy Minister for Political Affairs, to discuss upcoming events and improve trade and economic cooperation.
Kazakh officials also met with executives from the following major Korean companies:
Samsung Electronics, a major appliance and consumer electronics corporation
Samsung C&T, a construction and engineering company
Samsung Medison, a manufacturer of diagnostic ultrasound systems
Doosan Enerbility, an energy corporation
Ecovice, a logistics company
SK Ecoplant, a sustainable energy and management firm
The Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources (KIGAM)
GL Rapha, a biopharmaceutical manufacturer
LS Networks, a consumer goods company
Ionia EnC, a sustainable health appliances manufacturer
During the negotiations, the Korean investors were informed about the investment climate in Kazakhstan. Plans for joint projects in medicine, pharmaceuticals, waste processing, logistics, and geology were a key discussion point during these negotiations.
