The Telecommunications Committee of the AI and Digital Ministry conducted a working visit to Alatau, addressing the development of telecommunications and improvements in service quality.

Together with the Akimat of Alatau and mobile operators, the delegation visited the Zarechny and Zhetygen districts, as well as the Almaty–Konaev highway, focusing on expanding network access in suburban areas.

During the trip, the first 5G base station, installed by Mobile Telecom Service, was officially launched, providing residents with high-speed internet and improving overall network capacity.

A meeting at the Alatau Akimat concluded with the signing of a 2025–2027 roadmap to enhance telecommunications infrastructure. The plan includes modernizing equipment, expanding network coverage, and ensuring that all local schools are connected to high-speed internet by the end of the year.

This initiative aligns with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s vision for Alatau City as a new national center of innovation and technology — Kazakhstan’s first fully digital city, integrating Smart City solutions and cryptocurrency-based payment systems.

The city’s Master Plan was developed in collaboration with Surbana Jurong, a Singapore-based urban planning company serving as the project’s chief consultant.
