Employers and job seekers remain highly active in the information technology sector, while competition for vacancies continues to grow, QazMonitor reports.
According to HeadHunter, in 2025 employers posted vacancies across various IT fields, and candidates actively published resumes. The most in-demand roles remain programmers and developers (20.1% of vacancies, median salary of 359,000 tenge), designers and artists (+15.8%, 276,000 tenge), and technical support specialists (+13.6%, 221,000 tenge). Product and analytical roles—including product managers, business analysts, BI analysts, and data scientists—showed vacancy growth of up to 110.6%.
By city, the largest share of vacancies was concentrated in Almaty (59.7%) and Astana (28.1%), with moderate growth in Shymkent, Aktobe, and Karaganda. Among job seekers, Almaty (51.6%) and Astana (28.6%) lead, with the capital showing stronger growth in the number of resumes.
The highest offered salaries in January 2025 were recorded for Chief Technology Officers (723,000 tenge) and Chief Information Officers (698,000 tenge). Among job seekers, the highest salary expectations were reported by project managers and product analysts—up to 500,000 tenge.
The IT competition index reached 12.9, meaning an average of 13 resumes per vacancy, up 7.3% from 2024, indicating increased competition and sustained demand for qualified professionals.
