In Kazakhstan, cars equipped with liquid petroleum gas (LPG) fuel systems will be required to display a special sign starting next year, QazMonitor reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Trade and Integration.

The changes will be effective from January 1, 2024. Vehicles with gas-cylinder equipment must display a distinctive sign: an equilateral yellow triangle with a black border and an exclamation mark spelling "GAS" under it. This sign should be prominently placed for easy identification when entering closed parking lots.

"Conversion to gas is not always done in a safe manner. Unfortunately, sometimes these vehicles are potentially dangerous to our citizens. As a result, it is illegal for vehicles converted to gas to enter closed parking lots. The introduction of a special sign is aimed at identifying such vehicles and enforcing these restrictions," said Kuanysh Yelikbayev, Chairman of the Technical Regulation and Metrology Committee.
