Kazakhstan's Prime Minister, Alikhan Smailov, held a meeting with the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Kazakhstan, Abdulaziz bin Sultan Al-Rumaihi, to discuss the development of bilateral relations between the two countries, QazMonitor reports citing primeminister.kz.

Recognizing Qatar's crucial role as a significant political and economic partner in the Arab world, PM Smailov underscored the 30-year diplomatic history between the two nations. He reflected on the success of the 6th session of the Kazakh-Qatari high-level joint commission in Doha last October and a business forum that involved over 150 entrepreneurs from both countries.

The meeting's discussions centered on the construction of a grain processing plant in the Akmola region, with an estimated project cost of $200 million. The concept and partnership conditions for this initiative are currently under development.

"Kazakhstan provides the necessary conditions for business development. We, on our part, are ready to provide the required support," reassured Alikhan Smailov.

Ambassador Abdulaziz bin Sultan Al-Rumaihi emphasized Qatar's keen interest in developing bilateral relations, implementing joint business projects, and strengthening investment cooperation.
