Parliament Advances Bill for Nationwide Telecom Development

The amendments include subsidies and lease options for telecom operators

On May 2, the Upper House of Parliament approved amendments to the law on nationwide telecommunication infrastructure development, QazMonitor reports citing the Ministry of Digital and Space.

Amendments: The law presents several novelties in developing the existing telecom infrastructure, fostering an environment to attract promising technologies in the field, and improving accessibility for the general population.

Meanwhile, on April 30, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev dismissed Bagdat Mussin, the now-former Minister of Digital and Space, from his position. A new minister has not yet been appointed.
