Orbis Kazakhstan will begin production of the Geely Coolray and Emgrand models in Kazakhstan. The vehicles will be manufactured at the Orbis Manufacturing plant in Almaty, which is currently under construction. Both models will be produced using CKD (Completely Knocked Down) assembly with a high level of localization and the integration of advanced technologies.

The project is being implemented as part of a previously signed strategic cooperation agreement with Geely Automobile International Corporation. This agreement represents a key element of one of the largest investment initiatives aimed at developing the automotive industry in Kazakhstan. The parties are actively working together on its implementation.

Farrukh Makhmudov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Orbis Kazakhstan, commented:

Construction of the Orbis Manufacturing plant began in 2025 in Almaty’s industrial zone. The total investment in construction and launch phases amounts to 100 billion tenge, and the project is expected to create up to 1,500 jobs. Production of Geely vehicles is scheduled to start in 2027.

The Orbis Manufacturing plant is part of Orbis Kazakhstan Holding, founded in 2001 by Kazakh entrepreneurs Farrukh Makhmudov and Sukhrab Makhmudov. The holding’s business portfolio spans multiple industries, including automotive manufacturing and distribution, construction, vehicle services, agribusiness, as well as hospitality and restaurant management.
