A new seaside resort complex, Aqqu Resort & Camp, has opened on the Caspian coast in the Mangystau region. According to the regional akimat, the facility will operate in a multifunctional format: during the summer, it serves as the Aqqu Camp children’s camp for 300–350 kids, and for the rest of the year, it functions as a resort and corporate recreation center.
The resort was built through private investment. It features two outdoor swimming pools — one for adults and one for children — a cinema hall, a football field, sports grounds, a medical station, and a restaurant. During the season, the complex employs more than 100 people.
“The opening of such recreation centers helps improve the quality of life, creates opportunities for meaningful leisure for children and youth, and represents a real step toward developing the region’s tourism industry,” said Regional Akim Nurdaulat Kilybay.
