Kazakhstan has strengthened its position as the leading exporter of vegetable oils and oilseed processing products to Central Asian countries. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, in 2024 Kazakh producers became the main suppliers of such products to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
Kazakhstan’s share in Uzbekistan’s market has reached 65% (up from 13% in 2017), and 74% in Tajikistan (up from 15% in 2017).
The ministry also noted that Kazakhstan fully supplies neighboring countries with sunflower meal and cake, key components in the production of feed for poultry and livestock.
“Today we export our products to more than 20 countries. The export volumes of sunflower oil from Kazakhstan already exceed the combined imports of all Central Asian countries by 1.5 times, and if necessary, we are capable of fully covering the region’s demand,” the National Association of Oilseed Processors emphasized.
