High school students Dinmukhamed Matai and Amir Zhanibek presented their project “Innovative Rail Joint Technologies” to Kazakhstan Temir Zholy.

The 11th graders from Astana developed four patented solutions for improving rail connections — all registered in Kazakhstan and submitted for international patenting in Geneva. Their innovations aim to reduce noise, rail wear, accidents, and maintenance costs.

The project was also showcased at an international science olympiad in New York. KTZ’s management praised the students’ engineering approach and the practical potential of their ideas.

Under the new agreement, KTZ will provide materials for further research and arrange a visit to a rail welding facility in Burabay. The students also toured the company’s central museum.
