Nearly 9,000 Kazakhstanis Received Grants to Launch Their Own Businesses

Most recipients are rural residents and large families

Since the beginning of 2025, 8,964 grants have been issued to citizens from socially vulnerable groups to support new business ideas, including 5,539 to rural residents. A total of 9,234 grants are planned for the year.

According to the Ministry of Labor, 22,700 applications were submitted, including 14,800 from large families, 3,600 from persons with disabilities, and 2,600 from parents of children with disabilities, as well as applications from recipients of targeted social assistance, repatriates, and migrants.

The largest number of applications came from Turkistan (1,788), Kyzylorda (1,500), and Zhambyl (1,006) regions, while the smallest numbers were recorded in Astana (126) and Ulytau (79).

Most grants were used for purchasing equipment and tools (3,930), livestock (2,228) and crop farming (82), and renting business premises (135).

Among the recipients, 5,822 are large families, 1,397 are persons with disabilities, and 1,015 are parents raising children with disabilities.

Grant distribution took place in several rounds, including an additional stage funded through savings. In total, 270 additional grants will be issued across nine regions.
