President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has addressed the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) on the occasion of Kazakhstan assuming the chairmanship of the organization, stating that the country is ready to share its experience in the development of artificial intelligence.
Tokayev noted that the outgoing year was a milestone year for the EAEU. Despite global challenges, the economies of the member states continue to demonstrate stable growth. During Kazakhstan’s chairmanship, the President proposed focusing on five key areas, including technology – artificial intelligence, logistics, industrial digitalization, cross-border trade, and globalization.
In particular, President Tokayev proposed signing a joint statement on the responsible development of artificial intelligence within the EAEU at the Eurasian Economic Forum to be held in Astana next year.
“Kazakhstan is open to sharing knowledge and experience with EAEU partners in the field of artificial intelligence, digital regulation, and economic transformation. Through joint efforts, we will be able to adapt more effectively to new technological realities,” he said.
The President also proposed developing transport corridors, multimodal transportation, and creating “seamless” logistics between countries using neural network technologies. In his view, it is necessary to expand industrial cooperation to produce competitive products, finance breakthrough projects, and establish demonstration centers and centers of competence.
Tokayev emphasized that EAEU countries should deepen cooperation with the Global South, the Arab world, Southeast Asia, and Africa. In 2025, agreements were signed with Mongolia, Indonesia, and the United Arab Emirates. Overall, economic integration should deliver tangible results, including new production facilities, jobs, technologies, and free trade.
Kazakhstan, the President said, will do everything possible to achieve these goals and strengthen the EAEU’s potential through joint efforts.
