The Senate has approved a bill on the ratification of the Asia-Pacific Regional Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications in Higher Education, QazMonitor reports, citing the Senate press service.
The adoption of the document means Kazakhstan's entry into the network of national information centers operating under the convention and is aimed at strengthening confidence in the Kazakh higher education system abroad.
In particular, the convention provides for the opening of new markets for the export of educational services by Kazakhstani universities, as well as the transfer of new educational practices and teaching technologies.
The Tokyo Convention has 12 member states, including Afghanistan, Armenia, Australia, China, Fiji, Vatikan, Japan, Mongolia, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea, Russia, and Turkey. These countries will be required to recognize Kazakhstani diplomas.
