President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed the charter of the Board of Peace, QazMonitor reports.

In addition to the head of state, leaders and official representatives of 18 countries took part in the signing ceremony.

The US peace plan entered into force in the autumn of 2025. Under its first phase, Hamas and Israel agreed to a ceasefire, the exchange of hostages and prisoners, as well as an increase in the volume of humanitarian aid. On January 14, US President’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff announced the transition to the second phase of the plan, which предусматривает the disarmament of Hamas.

As previously reported, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev made a working visit to Davos at the invitation of the US President to take part in the ceremony to sign the Charter of the Board of Peace.

The World Economic Forum in Davos began on January 19. More than 60 heads of state and government are expected to take part in the event.
