A new plant producing polyethylene packaging and adhesive tape has been launched in Turkestan, QazMonitor reports.

The project is being implemented in stages, including the production of packaging made from both primary and recycled raw materials. The goal is to supply the domestic market with locally produced goods, reduce imports, and increase waste recycling volumes.

The first phase has been completed. The plant currently produces 1,500,000 units of adhesive tape per year. The products are supplied to markets in Kazakhstan and CIS countries. The second phase is scheduled for completion in December 2026 and предусматриes annual production of 350,000 kilograms of stretch film and 80,000 units of bubble wrap. The third phase is planned for 2027, after which polyethylene output is expected to reach 500,000 kilograms per year.

The launch created new jobs: 20 employees were hired during the first phase, with further expansion planned.

The total project cost exceeds 1.2 billion tenge. A production facility with a total area of 1,440 square meters has been commissioned, with four additional buildings totaling 5,760 square meters planned for construction.
