Kazakhstan completed its campaign at the 3rd Asian Youth Games held from October 22 to 31 in Manama, Bahrain, finishing third in the overall medal standings. The national team secured a record 93 medals, including 24 gold, 29 silver, and 40 bronze.

China topped the table with 147 medals (63 gold, 49 silver, 35 bronze), followed by Uzbekistan with 81 medals (37 gold, 16 silver, 28 bronze).

Kazakh athletes competed in over 20 sports, delivering not only podium finishes but also new records. Weightlifter Alihan Askerbay set world, Asian, and Asian Youth Games records in both the snatch and clean and jerk. Maksim Sazhnev (athletics), Aleksandr Rumynskiy (swimming), and Nurzhan Zhumabai (weightlifting) also set Games records.

Kazakhstan earned the most gold medals in boxing (five), followed by judo (four) and weightlifting (three).

This marks the best performance in Kazakhstan’s history at the Asian Youth Games. For comparison, the national team won 14 medals in 2009 and 13 in 2013.
