Kazakh tennis player Elena Rybakina won the WTA Finals in Riyadh, defeating world No.1 Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus 6:3, 7:6(0).
Rybakina became the first Kazakh woman to claim the season-ending WTA title in singles. Her victory brings a record-breaking prize of $5.23 million and 1,500 ranking points, moving her to world No.5.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Rybakina on her historic triumph, praising her skill and determination. The President also signed a decree awarding her the Order of Barys, 3rd degree, in recognition of her contribution to the development and promotion of tennis in Kazakhstan.
