Elena Rybakina has advanced to the semifinals of the Australian Open 2026 after defeating world No. 2 Iga Swiatek, QazMonitor reports.
In the quarterfinal match, the top-ranked Kazakhstani player overcame the Polish tennis star in straight sets, 7:5, 6:1. The match lasted 1 hour and 35 minutes. Rybakina recorded 11 aces, made three double faults, and converted four of seven break points, dropping just one game on her serve.
The victory marks Rybakina’s second career semifinal appearance at the Australian Open. She will next face the winner of the quarterfinal between Americans Jessica Pegula and Amanda Anisimova, ranked sixth and fourth in the WTA standings, respectively.
