Kazakhstan’s top tennis player Elena Rybakina has advanced to the final of the Australian Open 2026, QazMonitor reports.

In the semifinal, Rybakina defeated American Jessica Pegula in straight sets – 6:3, 6:4. The win allowed the Kazakhstani player to take the lead in their head-to-head record, now standing at 4–3 in Rybakina’s favor.

In the final, Rybakina will face world No.1 Aryna Sabalenka, who earlier defeated Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina 6:2, 6:3. The championship match is scheduled for January 31.

Kazakhstan will also be represented in the women’s doubles final. Anna Danilina, partnering with Serbia’s Aleksandra Krunic, advanced to the final after defeating Gabriela Dabrowski of Canada and Brazil’s Luisa Stefani. The match ended in a three-set victory.

In the final, Danilina and Krunic will face the winners of the semifinal between the Belgian–Chinese pair Elise Mertens and Zhang Shuai and the Japanese–Russian duo Ena Shibahara and Vera Zvonareva.
