A large-scale tourism development project has been launched in the Almaty Region to create a new travel cluster along the scenic Ili River.

The initiative includes the reconstruction of the Nomad City complex, the construction of a pedestrian bridge to the Tanbaly Tas site, and the development of modern tourism infrastructure. Plans also include establishing glamping areas, recreation zones, and dining facilities.

Nomad City has already become a popular destination for tourists and creative teams, hosting several film and TV productions this year for the Zhіbek Zholy channel.

Infrastructure work is already underway, including a new seven-kilometer road to the complex. The project also provides for road lighting and a parking area. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

In 2025, national parks in the Almaty Region welcomed more than 700,000 visitors. In the first half of the year, tourist flow to the region grew by 30%, with domestic tourism exceeding 1 million people.
