A new direct flight route connecting Astana and Belgrade has officially launched, following the instruction of the President of Kazakhstan. The inaugural flight marked a new step in strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and Serbia.

The ceremony in Astana gathered Vice Minister of Transport Talgat Lastayev, SCAT Airlines President Vladimir Denisov, Ambassador of Serbia to Kazakhstan Vladimir Jovcic, and airport officials.

The flight route was initiated as part of agreements reached during the official visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Serbia, with support from the foreign ministries and embassies of both countries.

Upon landing in Belgrade, the Kazakh delegation was welcomed by Speaker of the National Assembly Ana Brnabic and Deputy Minister of Transport Verica Jechmenica.

“The launch of the direct route between Astana and Belgrade is an important milestone in strengthening ties between Kazakhstan and Serbia. The new connection will create additional opportunities for business, tourism, and cultural exchange,” Vice Minister Lastayev said.

Kazakhstan and Serbia maintain a visa-free travel regime. The flight lasts 5 hours and 40 minutes, with 92 passengers onboard the inaugural trip. SCAT will operate the route twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, using Boeing 737 aircraft.
