By 2050, Almaty Airport will be able to serve 4.6 times more passengers as a result of the implementation of the Horizon development program, the press service of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reported.

According to Serkan Kaptan, CEO of TAV Airports Holding, which owns the airport, and Göker Kose, President of Almaty International Airport, work is currently underway to reconstruct the domestic terminal, build a modern de-icing platform, install soundproofing in nearby residential areas, and carry out other infrastructure projects.

Overall, the concept provides for the creation of a system of three runways with full reconstruction of the main runway, the construction of a cargo apron, logistics and warehouse facilities, and modern passenger infrastructure.
