A new season of the French television show Pékin Express, filmed entirely in Kazakhstan during winter, has been released by M6, QazMonitor reports, citing the press service of the Astana city administration. The season finale was filmed in the capital, Astana, and all episodes are available on YouTube.

Pékin Express is an international television format produced by the Belgian company Eccholine. The show has been adapted in more than 15 countries, including France, Spain, Italy, and Belgium. In France, each season typically attracts an average television audience of 2 to 3 million viewers, with some episodes reaching up to 4 million.

The 2025 season, titled La Route des Glaces (“The Ice Route”), was filmed entirely in winter conditions and is described as one of the most challenging seasons in the project’s history. The final stages and the winner announcement took place in Astana.

Eight pairs of contestants took part in the season, competing across seven episodes. The format combines adventure, competition, and cultural immersion. This season placed particular emphasis on winter challenges, harsh landscapes, and Kazakhstan’s natural diversity.

Filming took place at key cultural and architectural sites in Astana, showcasing the city and the country as a winter destination for international television audiences.
