Speaking at a government meeting, Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerbol Myrzabosynov said tourism investment rose by 32% year-on-year. In the World Economic Forum’s global tourism competitiveness index, Kazakhstan improved its ranking from 66th to 52nd place. The government has set a goal of entering the top 50 countries.

The number of tourists staying in accommodation facilities increased by 12%, exceeding 10 million people. Efforts to attract private investment into the sector continue.

A total of 328 tourism projects are currently under implementation, including Hilton and Mandarin Oriental hotel complexes, the Oi-Qaragai resort, and the Keruen Inn hotel chain. These projects are expected to create around 10,000 permanent jobs.
