Three eco-parks are scheduled to be established in the Zhetysu region in 2026, QazMonitor reports, citing the regional administration.
The projects will be implemented in Taldykorgan, Tekeli and the Sarkand district as part of efforts to develop eco-tourism.
In Taldykorgan, the 38-hectare “Turtle” eco-park will be located three kilometers from the city. The area is listed as a protected site of local historical and cultural significance. The project includes construction of an observation deck, installation of basic infrastructure, parking facilities and sanitation units.
In Tekeli, the 21-hectare “Cherkasai” eco-park will be developed. In the Sarkand district, the 15-hectare “Koytas” park, located within the city of Sarkand, will receive eco-park status. Landscaping works have preserved the natural terrain and included tree planting and thematic sculptures.
Regional tourism authorities state that the projects are aimed at developing ecological and cultural tourism.
